Dear Autotask Customer,
This morning, Vista Equity Partners, the majority shareholder and owner of Autotask, announced the acquisition of Datto, the leading provider of data protection and business continuity solutions. With this acquisition, Vista will merge Autotask and Datto to create the market-leading managed services platform, delivering the only complete technology solution suite to the IT channel. A combined management team will lead the merged entity with Datto Founder and Chief Executive Officer Austin McChord as CEO of the newly formed company. I will continue to work closely with Austin and the combined team as a strategic advisor to the Board of Directors.
Datto develops business continuity solutions that secure business data for tens of thousands of companies around the world. Its suite of services include backup and disaster recovery, Cloud-to-Cloud backup services for SaaS applications and network continuity services. MSPs offer Datto as a managed service to meet the data protection needs of small and midsized businesses or distributed locations of large enterprises.
This merger now provides the industry with the only complete IT business management and business continuity managed services platform. It enables MSPs and IT Service Providers globally to offer superior solutions to their clients, including PSA, RMM, FSS, networking and business continuity and backup and disaster recovery from one company.
This powerful combination of Autotask Unified PSA-RMM and Datto’s industry-leading business continuity solutions will deliver unprecedented innovation and unmatched levels of value and service to our customers and partners worldwide.
